Zigzag stitch-resist in dancette pattern or repeated mitered corners

Technique: Mokume Shibori - Parallel running stitches along the weft in a zigzag pattern are gathered  and scrunched to create a wood-grain (mokume) resist pattern. Process illustrations are from the book “Shibori: The Inventive Art of Japanese Shaped Resist Dyeing”  by Wada, Rice, and Barton. (c)1983
