Hand pleated-resist & capped resist in bands in dyed in light and dark indigo

Technique: Tesuji Shibori - Resisted stripes created by continuous rows of hand-pleating before binding evenly around a rope. Process illustrations are from the book “Shibori: The Inventive Art of Japanese Shaped Resist Dyeing”  by Wada, Rice, and Barton. (c)1983

Pattern: Ai-gaeshi - A process of over-dyeing with indigo in pale to medium blue. This process adds a depth to the finished design.
