Technique: Boushi Shibori - Large capped motif binding thread resist

Pattern: Circles. When formed by the boushi shibori technique, they have distinctive soft outlines that cannot be produced in any other way. The insides of the circles also record the way the cloth was manipulated into a 3-D shape to resist dye and create the tactile quality of the shibori pattern.
