Kyoto: Shrine Market, Gardens, Temples, Shojin Ryori (Monk’s cuisine) 

A 13-day Travel for Workshops™ program curated by Yoshiko I. Wada. The focus is a workshop retreat at Gungendo in Omori-cho and a Shibori & Indigo workshop with Hiroko Ando. Omori-cho is a part of a former silver mine, Iwami Ginzan UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This tour also includes Hiroshima Genbaku Dome, the Simose Art Museum by Shigeru Ban, and much to see and experience in Kyoto.

Join us for a captivating taste of old Japan in Omori-cho where the 400 residents follow a self-sustaining, resourceful philosophy and lifestyle. Learn from artists, chefs, and locals! Space is limited. Arrive in Nagoya, Japan, on 5/23/2024 in time for the Kyoto Shrine flea market on 5/25. The program ends in Nagoya on 6/4/2024. You have the option to continue to Tokyo with staff to participate in Tour 3.

Travel for Workshops Japan Tour 2 Total Cost*: $7000

This amount covers all materials and fees for workshops, all accommodations, local ground transportation, and the most delicious local meals to complete your cultural experience (12 Breakfasts, 8 Lunches, and 11 Dinners). Maximum 20 participants, accompanied by two bilingual WSNF staff members and artists. Single occupancy except for the 5-night stay in Omoricho. If you have a partner to share one bed, contact info[at]shibori.org for a discount (does not apply to Omori-cho).

*Airfare is not included.

A 3% fee will be added during checkout for credit card payments.

All sales are final. No returns or refunds.

Slow Fiber Studios is not responsible for lost or stolen packages. Please contact your local post office with your tracking number to resolve any issues with delivery.

USPS First Class International shipping does not include tracking service. Please use Priority Mail International or higher to guarantee tracking to the destination.

Slow Fiber Studios is not responsible for packages held or confiscated at customs. Customs may delay your package delivery significantly. Some countries may require in-person pickup or charge fees before releasing your package. The customer is responsible for any customs fees. Using Priority Mail International or higher is more likely to expedite your package.
