Large is the size that that has been used by artisans in Arimatsu for centuries, however if you have smaller hand, you may find the the Small size variant will be much easier to manuever. See measurements below for more details.

Handmade and imported from Japan, these wooden bobbins are easy to pass between hands, useful for bound shibori patterns including bōshi (capped), makiage (crisscross binding), hinode (sunrise), and tesuji (hand-pleated).

Large 15 x 1.75cm (5.75 x 0.675in) for a large hand for Kumo Shibori.

Medium and long 16 x 1.5cm (6.5 x 0.6in) can be used for Tesuji Shibori.

Small 15 x 1cm (5.75 x 0.375in) for a small hand for Kumo Shibori.
