A rare opportunity to participate in a 5-day Arashi Shibori Workshop in Arimatsu taught by Kaei Hayakawa, the last in the lineage of practicing traditional Arashi Shibori artists in Japan. This workshop introduces Hayakawa’s inventive approach to Arashi Shibori and his tour de force contemporary creations.
This workshop is limited to 2 observers due to the nature of Hayakawa-san’s studio space.
The fee includes materials, hands-on instruction, demonstrations, discussions, use of Mr. Hayakawa’s unique tools and equipment, access to his very special Sukumo Indigo vats, and group lunches with Mr. Kaei Hayakawa.
A bilingual WSNF programs director, Tomoko Ferguson, will accompany the program.
A 3% fee will be added during checkout for credit card payments.
